Best of the Day …  RBR gets 16-radio leaders on the record about current business

Radio-info (271,751 Monthly Visits says Compete.com) – Leads with Day 1 of the NAB Show. “Surviving the Meltdown” just  one seminar but a good feeling for the entire situation.  Running stations with even fewer people just like the NAB show itself not setting any positive attendance records.  Tom writes about market managers and recap as in recapitalization of debt wiping out shareholders.  Not many PD at the NAB … is a bad sign.

All Access (123,623 Monthly Visits) – Leads with Minority Rating Council gets congressman to investigate Arbitron under reporting.  Second item covers the new Nielsen measurement service results that shows radio listening runs about 23-hours week among all age groups … young, average, and cell phone only people [… the question is with what attention are people listening for 23-hours/week? ].

The 2007 massively leveraged purchase of Disney radio assets isn’t working.  [Will the new owners keep management in place?] Second item on today’s new FCC Chairman’s Net Neutrality speech … the big deal is about extending neutrality policy to wireless data providers not just the wired home cable/copper wire internet.

All Access (123,623 Monthly Visits) – Leads with NAB pick of former senator Gordon Smith as new President/CEO.  [Senator considers this million dollar job as the opportunity of a life time.]  Second item … more Citadel coverage with hint at the end of possible sale or closing of some assets.
